Study Says Women Should Not Delay Pregnancy
Indian women should not delay pregnancy as probability to conceive after 35 years of age is much less compared to their western counterparts, concluded a study conducted by a citybased fertility clinic.
This was mainly due to poor ovarian response (POR), that is, the quality of eggs in Indian women deteriorates after age of 35 and women have to depend on donor eggs to conceive, the study explained.

The study was undertaken by city-based Nova IVI Fertili ty (NIF), a subsidiary of Nova Medical Centers, covering over 7,000 patients undergoing fertility treatment across all NIF centers across the country .

NIF executive director Dr Manish Banker said that a significantly high number of women suffering from infer tility in India were over the age of 31. “The study also raised concerns that the biggest cause behind the infertility was POR in women after 35 years of age,“ he said.

According to the study , 68% of women seeking fertility treatments were aged 31 years and above, with over 36% being between 31-35 years and 32% above 35 years.

It further revealed that 30% of women depend on donor eggs to get pregnant, simply because they approach an IVF expert at a time when their ovarian reserve was already poor(COURSTEY TIMES OF INDIA)
